THE LADY AND THE SPIDER
BY BY FAITH McNULTY ILLUSTRATED BY BOB MARSTALL
Age Level 4 to 8 Review by Barbara This is a cute story told from the viewpoint of the spider. The appeal to children would be in experiencing life from a totally unique perspective. I believe that whenever this is accomplished, empathy and appreciation for creatures different from ourselves is established. The art illustrations are very well done. You can purchase this book at Powells.

ALL ABOUT OWLS
BY JIM ARNOSKY
Age Level 4 to adult Review by BarbaraThere are beautiful, full-color illustrations of a variety of owls on every page. The information in this book is true to the title, "All About Owls" and pretty much covers the subject. I believe that just about any age group, including adults, would find this book interesting if they want to know about owls. You can purchase this book at Powells.
ALL ABOUT OWLS
THE EMPTY LOT
BY DALE H. FIFE ILLUSTRATIONS BY JIM ARNOSKY
Age Level 5 to 9 Review by BarbaraThis is a story about a man who wants to sell his lot that has stood empty while "civilization" grew up around it. One day when the man goes to check on the lot, he becomes aware that the place is teeming with wild life. It is a very meaningful story. The art illustrations are charming and amusing. I highly recommend it. You can purchase this book at Powells.
THE EMPTY LOT
THE VIEW FROM THE OAK
BY JUDITH and HERBERT KOHL
Age Level 9 to adult Review by BarbaraThis book is not a story but rather, it offers up unique information that might surprise you. The book covers a variety of topics such as Time and Change; Tone, Mood and Response, etc., giving a deeper view into the way particular creatures experience their reality. In my opinion, younger children might find it a bit too intellectual to maintain their interest. However, I believe that older children and adults would enjoy reading it. You can purchase this book at Powells.

The book begins by advising what clothes and other items to pack for your camping trip. It tells you how to choose a good camp site. It gives instructions on creating a tent, including illustrations of several knot-tying techniques. Takintg some of the ideas with you is sure to enhance your next camping adventure. The only thing I would have liked to see added to this book, would be some good camp fire songs. You can purchase this book at Powells.
