We have created this free site, nature activities for children, as a gateway for children to enter the natural world. Here you will find games, activities, stories, nature books, wilderness skills and much more. No previous experience is necessary.

We feel that every child has a desire to find his or her place in the natural world. The games, stories, activities, and books on our web site allow us to mentor your child in the art of nature awareness. We have seen many young people find their spiritual bearings through nature, and we are excited to assist in this process.

THIS IS HOW WE DO IT

NATURE ACTIVITIES The activities on this site are designed to help your child experience the natural world by engaging them in fun and interesting projects and games. Many of these are used by quality programs across the country. We have modified them for use on the web.

NATURE AWARENESS We will lead you and your Outdoor Nature Child through the awareness core routines as presented by Wilderness Awareness School.

GAMES Try our True or False pages to test your knowledge or search through our Activities for individual and group games.

KAMANA FOR KIDS We are the headquarters for Kamana For Kids. Based on the popular adult Kamana Naturalist Training program from Wilderness Awareness School, Kamana For Kids is a child friendly nature awareness program. We use books, stories, games, and activities to bring the core teachings to the children.

OUR BOOKS AND STORIES We have written a series of books and stories in the Kamana For Kids tradition. They have become a favorite with many of the children we work with and now have spread over much of North America. If you purchase any of our products, you will be helping us to keep this web site commercial free. All proceeds will go to maintaining and improving this site and to supporting local outdoor programs for children and adults.

Ready to start? One more reminder! We strongly suggest that all activities are supervised by an adult. There are three reasons for this. (1.) We couldn't do it without you. We need parents and caregivers to be our partners. We explain this in more detail on the Activity Pages. (2.) Safety. All of our activities are designed and tested with the safety and well being of the child as the first priority. This can best be achieved with adult supervision. (3.) We would not want you, as a parent, to miss the magical moments that will unfold as you and your child open your hearts to the natural world. Yes, these teachings we offer work for adults too!

A FEW WORDS ABOUT US This web site is brought to you by Bob Repoley and Barbara English, and our two favorite story characters, Running Deer and Moon Bird. Think of Bob and Barb as an extra set of grandparents. Between us, we have walked on this earth for more than 130 years. We offer our extensive training, research, study, and practical teaching experience to you and to your Outdoor Nature Child. Most of all, we offer the wisdom of the elders to all those who are in need of being in touch with the natural world.
